Artillery Display at Nothe Fort Weymouth

Step back in time at Nothe Fort and experience the sights and sounds of a Victorian military garrison in action as the Nothe Fort Garrison The Dorsetshire Regiment returns with a live Artillery Display.

Visitors can witness impressive musketry and cannon firing drills performed by the regiment in full period uniform, bringing the Fort’s military history vividly to life. Throughout the afternoon, there will also be opportunities to learn more about the duties of the garrison during the Victorian era and discover how soldiers lived and trained at the historic coastal defence fort.

Live firing demonstrations will take place between 12pm and 3pm, with plenty of action and atmosphere for all ages to enjoy.

A brilliant family-friendly day out and a fantastic chance to see living history at one of Weymouth’s most iconic landmarks.

Noise Levels and Ear Protection
Please be aware the cannon and musket firing can be quite loud. Ear defenders are available to borrow during the demonstration. Nothe Fort Staff will be walking the Parade Ground offering them to visitors.
