  • Portland Museum will be hosting the Dorset Songs of Stone Portland Poets Festival!

    •On Saturday, June 7th 2-3pm, as part of our museum open day, there will be SHARED READINGS of a selection of poems from the Portland Poets, Skylark Durston, Bob Woollage, George Davey, and Boy Male, read by museum volunteers and members of the local community.

    This will also be the launch the museum’s COMPETITION to write a poem or nature writing inspired by the Portland Poets about your favourite places on Portland.

    (Please note the museum will share a leaflet of prompts to help get inspired by Skylark and the poets and to help people shape their own nature writing.)

    • On Saturday, July 26th, Portland Poets’ FESTIVAL with guest community readers, 2-4pm
    With new sharings of nature writing and poetry in response to the challenge, and original work by the Portland Poets, with kind permission from their families.
