Since shortly after the Covid-19 lockdown started at the end of March cruise ships, unable to operate due to infection risk, have taken advantage of the sheltered waters of Weymouth Bay anchoring there as a low cost alternative to expensive port fees. Right now most days there are a minimum of seven ships out in the bay but recently we have seen as many as ten. We’ve even had all three magnificent liners in the Cunard Fleet, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2 and The Queen Victoria here together. The vessels come and go and every day offers a different view of them.

They are a magnificent site to see particularly at sunset. Earlier this week we were lucky enough to take a Sunset Cruise on Snapper this is an edited version of the thirty minute Facebook Live video we streamed from the Bay.
