This is a charming musical of songs and dance routines to appeal to everyone, young and old! Many of the musical numbers are instantly recognisable; ‘Food, Glorious Food’, ‘Consider Yourself’, ‘Oom-Pah -Pah’, ‘You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two’, ‘Reviewing the Situation’ and the heartrending ‘Where Is Love’.
This is a charming musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novel ‘Oliver Twist’. Oliver, a young orphan living in a workhouse in Dunstable, is apprenticed to an undertaker until he escapes and runs away to London. There he is readily accepted into a seemingly happy gang of street urchins but they lead him into a life of theft and pickpocketing, masterminded by Fagin.
Through many adventures and mishaps Oliver discovers his true identity that leads to a happy ending, but first he has to witness the violence of the underworld of 1830s London into which he has been ensnared.
