St Paul's Church
On Saturday, 4th November at 7.30 pm at St Paul’s Church, Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth DT4 0BJ, Weymouth Choral Society will be presenting Masters of Music- a contrasting and creative evening highlighting the music from musical greats such as Verdi, Vivaldi and Mozart.
Featuring soloists Caroline Thomas, Cathy Murray, Michael Dewis and Andrew Morris with musical accompaniment provided by Weymouth’s own Louise Dukes and Simon Earl from Christchurch Priory.
The programme, devised by Helen Brind the Musical Director, showcases the versatility of the Masters of Music- from Sir Arthur Sullivan’s gentle and evocative anthem ‘I will lay me down in peace’ to his ‘Poor wan’dring one’ from the comic opera Pirates of Penzance.
This promises to be a memorable evening with favourites such as the resounding ‘Anvil Chorus’, the wrathful ‘Dies Irae’, ‘Nessun Dorma’ and many more!
