  • An evening of virtuoso jazz on paino and clarinet.

    Mike Denham (piano) is known not only for his virtuosity but also the variety of styles at his fingertips. Many of you will have seen him leading the seven piece Sunset Cafe Stompers at St Laurence last year.

    For this performance he is joined by renowned clarinet and sax player, Mike Snelling. Mike has worked with some of the world’s finest players, including “Peanuts” Hucko, Ralph Sutton, Bud Freeman, Buddy Tate, Bob Wilbur and Kenny Davern. Mike was a member of the Big Chris Barber Band for 3 years.

    Prepare to hear some mesmerising playing influenced by the likes of Ed Hall, Artie Shaw, Archie Semple, Omer Simeon, Benny Goodman and Coleman Hawkins.
