Winter Walkies Weymouth Beach Charity Fundraiser

Join us for our Winter Walkies on Weymouth Beach raising funds for our chosen charity for 2024, this is our sixth year raising funds for charity through events, this year’s charity is Margaret Green Animal Rescue in Dorset. This will be our Christmas Walkies fundraiser. Our local Dog Friendly Weymouth and Portland Group will be there to greet you, at our Gazebo on Weymouth Beach in the Dog Area Pavilion end, our walk starts at 1.30pm. We invite dog owners who rescued dogs to join us for a photo in front of our gazebo before our walk. We give free poo bags to our owners and free treats to all the dogs. Dave Cumber vet always supports our event with free goody bags given on a first come first served basis one per family.

To help us raise funds we suggest a donation of £2 per family, every penny going to Margaret Green Animal Rescue, our rescues in the UK are full with pets waiting for forever homes, volunteers offer to foster them to help relive the pressures placed on rescues. Sadly some owners experience a change in circumstances and make the heartbreaking decision to surrender their pets. We have a dog Freddie who was rescued after authorities were made aware of the conditions he and his fellow dogs had experienced. Today he joins us on our regular Waggy Walks in Weymouth.

We ask dog owners and the public who join us to consider other beach users, to use the public litter bins along the Esplanade for all types of litter, our walk ends at Bowleaze Cove Weymouth, we understand no everyone will walk that far, please support our local businesses who welcome dogs thank you
