This year Dusk til Dark will be slightly different – you don’t stand and watch — you wander, explore, and immerse.

Dusk Til Dark 2026 transforms the town into a series of static sound and light installations, inviting you to discover each one in your own time.

Start at Westham Bridge in Weymouth for the HEADLINE immersive light and sound installation, produced by Dorset-based Activate Performing Arts.

‘Wave’ by artists Squidsoup, consists of five hundred suspended orbs shaped like a breaking ocean wave. Each orb contains LED lights, a speaker and microcomputer, with movement sensor and wireless connectivity. As you move through the artwork, the orbs shift in harmonies of sound and light resulting in a calming and sensory experience. The 500 interconnected glowing orbs use Internet of Things technology to create an environment filled with movement, sound and emotion.

‘Wave’ will offer you a moment of escape – a peaceful sanctuary in an increasingly chaotic world.

There will also be additional sound and light experiences within the town as part of We Are Weymouth’s Dusk til Dark event.

Dusk Til Dark is not a single moment — it’s a full weekend of discovery.
