Spy Science
Science is all around us. This national science day come down and explore some of the science behind some real techniques used by WWII spies sent over to Europe.
Radio communications and codes
During the Second World War, spies had to send messages back home with information about the enemy, requesting supplies and plans to ensure that resistance fighters could successfully cripple the enemy. In this talk you will discover about the skills and techniques used and how it relates to our modern world.
Small arms training
Parachuted behind enemy lines and a chance encounter with a German officer to check your papers, what’s the probability that you would survive? Discover some of the training with firearms taught to Agents from SOE and see how accurate they can be, even without using sights. Using scientific method, data collection and experiment you will work out the group’s chances of getting away.
