SATURDAY 10TH
Clothes Swap: Bring in your old clothes and take home something new to you
Collage Art Workshop: Big Green Cut and Paste! Collage art using upcycled fabric
Fabric Upcycling at Stepford Studios (8 Trinity Street): Fabric upcycling workshop
Eco-mooring display: A buoy which secures vessels with minimal impact on the seabed
Crisp Packet Clothing Demo: Learn how to make clothes from empty crisp packets.
Live Music and Bar: Local bands and artists playing live. The bar will be open!
SUNDAY 11TH
Community Bike Ride to tour Tumbledown Farm: gentle ride to Tumbledown, where we will be given a tour of the farm. Soup and coffee provided!
Guided Nature Walk: Assemble at Radipole RSPB café for an informative walk
Film Night: “Bank Job”, feature documentary about a community who create their own currency and open their own bank
MONDAY 12TH
Sourdough workshop: Discover the mysteries of this wonderful, versatile dough
Nature Parade: Check out the funky costumes!
Panel Discussion: “If I were King”: What to do about Energy, Water & Waste. Hear from local residents working in these fields what they would do if they were King Charles III
TUESDAY 13TH
Foraging Walk: Learn about the free food that’s growing all around our local area
Lunchtime Talk: Cycle to work
Creative Clothes Workshop: how to recycle worn out clothes in a creative way
Film Night: A collection of short, thought-provoking films with discussion
WEDNESDAY 14TH
Plant-based food workshop: Making tasty food without meat
Open Mic Spoken Word: Poetry, short prose, readings. Bring your own bottle and bring your own writing (or read out a favourite work, or just come and listen)
THURSDAY 15TH
Wax wrap workshop: create your own eco-wraps to save on plastic waste
Lunchtime talk: Local currency
Clothes Workshop: Mending, upcycling and blinging your threads
Climate activists open meeting: Meet an activist/what next in Weymouth?
FRIDAY 16TH
Lunchtime talk: Cycle to work
Creative Clothes Workshop: how to recycle worn out clothes in a creative way
Harmonics and Island Voice Choirs plus Land Use Talk: Local community choirs perform, local experts talk about how we can change the way our land is used
SATURDAY 17TH
Community Assembly: Community discussion and brainstorm: What more can I do to help combat climate change and nature loss? Free tea, coffee and cake!
Closing Party and Creative Showcase: Bring your own vinyl for our DJ to play out. Get a drink at the bar and have a dance. Showcase of items created during GBGW.No Records Found
