The National Trust are looking to build their team of volunteers who can base themselves at the Hardy Monument, Dorset for a few hours each week to join the Visitor Welcome team and help visitors make the most of their day out.
Anyone interested is invited to come along to an open morning on Tuesday 26 September, anytime between 9.30am to 12.30pm, at the Hardy Monument, Black Down, near Dorchester DT2 9HY (what3words: version.frown.kilowatt).
The Hardy Monument is an iconic Dorset landmark that stands 780 feet above sea level and is located near Dorchester. It was built in 1844 in memory of Vice Admiral Sr Thomas Hardy, Flag Captain of HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Elizabeth Flight, Partnership and Programming Officer of the National Trust, said ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the team and find out more about the role and how you can get involved. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and work a range of different hours that suit their lifestyle.
‘If you love meeting people, are passionate about local history and working outside, or maybe you are looking for an opportunity to learn new skills, then come along to our open morning to find out more’.
If you would like further information about volunteering opportunities with the National Trust or the forthcoming open day, please contact Scott Welland, North & West Dorset National Trust at scott.welland@nationaltrust.org.uk
