Installed by AC Special Projects in early 2020 Weymouth’s new seafront lighting installation brings a new focus to Weymouth Esplanade with it’s artistically programmed display of vertival colour along the full sweep of Weymouth’s famous promenade.
The Weymouth Promenade Artistic Lighting Scheme is part of a portfolio of connected projects which aim to improve physical, digital and emotional connections to the coast in Dorset, funded by the Coastal Communities Fund and coordinated by Dorset Coast Forum.
Owing to its exposure to the outdoor elements and sea air, AC-SP worked with Dorset Council and scheme Lighting Designer, Tonkin Liu to supply a custom solution which conformed to marine grade levels of durability, in order to deliver maximum reliability and longevity. A significant amount of time was therefore spent researching in detail every single component of the system, to meet the brief.

Just as predicted, absolute c**p. Nothing artistic about these lights in any way. More colour watching the traffic lights change. For goodness sake put our traditional fairy lights back. Dont keep asking for our comments, you dont listen, but the result is clear on this Video you have paid out an outrageous amount of money against the will of the people of Weymouth and achieved another unmitigated DISASTER.
Sorry, but in my opinion the lights look better than this video has shown. Too many cutting of camera angles at too quick a pace. It needs slowing down for the viewer to be able to appreciate the changing of the lights. I love my home town and the new lights are a welcome addition.
Lovely ….❤️❤️❤️❤️
