EBIKE Cafe @ Deheers, located along Weymouth’s picturesque Old Harbourside, has announced its charity partner for 2025: M.V. Freedom, a Weymouth-based charity dedicated to providing access to the sea for people living with disabilities.

This new partnership comes after two successful years of collaboration with Weldmar Hospicecare, during which EBIKE Cafe raised an impressive £3,231 through community-driven initiatives such as events, raffles and the introduction of the very popular Weldmarccino. The Weldmarccino, a rebranded cappuccino, saw over 10,000 cups sold, with 10p from every sale donated to Weldmar Hospicecare.

Now, the cafe is looking forward to another impactful year, supporting M.V. Freedom’s mission to offer memorable and empowering voyages along the Jurassic Coastline.

Owner of the EBIKE Cafe, Josephine Parker, told us more about the new charitable partnership: “Choosing MV Freedom as our charity partner for 2025 is personal for me. My father, David Barkway is a double amputee and relies on a wheelchair, so I understand how crucial their work is for people with mobility challenges. M. V. Freedom provides not only an opportunity to enjoy our stunning coastline but also a chance to build confidence and create lasting memories. We’re honoured to support their amazing work and look forward to seeing the impact we can achieve together.”

Following the success of the Weldmarccino, EBIKE Cafe is excited to launch the Freedom Flat White, donating 10p from every sale to the charity, ensuring every sip makes a difference. The cafe will also host a series of fundraising events throughout the year to further support M.V. Freedom’s vital work.

Bill Belcher, Chairman of MV Freedom, expressed his gratitude: “We are delighted and very grateful that the EBIKE Cafe has selected us as their chosen charity for 2025. It’s always wonderful when a local business supports a local charity run by volunteers for the benefit of the community. We’re excited to collaborate with Josephine and the EBIKE Cafe team to make a real difference in the lives of those who rely on our services.”

M.V. Freedom operates a fully accessible catamaran, offering two-hour trips along the Jurassic Coastline from April to October. The boat, which accommodates up to six wheelchair users, is crewed by qualified volunteers and provides an invaluable experience for people with disabilities, their carers, and support groups.

The EBIKE Cafe continues its commitment to community, sustainability, and wellness. Nestled in the prestigious Deheers Building, the cafe offers not only great coffee and food but also serves as Dorset’s home for Specialized, a world-renowned Californian eBike brand.

The EBIKE Cafe @ Deheers is located on the ground floor of the Deheers Building. For locals and visitors alike to enjoy healthy food, exceptional coffee and stunning harbourside views.
