As from 1 April 2014 car parking charges in many of Weymouth and Portland’s council run car parks are due to fall or become more flexible.

Most car parks will see these changes come into effect and in some cases the changes are quite dramatic.

Car parks at popular spots for a quick visit such as The Nothe , Pavilion and Lodmoor now have a one hour rate of just 50p which is sure to be popular with those that just want to get out and about for a quick walk or drink in a cafe or bar. Previously in these parks you’d have had to pay between £2 and £3 for a minimum two hour stay so we think this should be pretty popular.

All day charges in many parks are now available at £5 or £6 whereas previously they would have been £7 or £9

Most other charges have also been reduced and free parking overnight in many of the parks that had been introduced for the winter period will now apply throughout the year from 6pm to 9.30am.

We think this is great news and would love your comments.
