Weymouth Central Beach has won the coveted Seaside Award for 2015 from Keep Britain Tidy.
The Seaside Award recognises beaches in England that achieve the very highest management and environmental standards, as well as the tough bathing water quality criteria.
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council’s Tourism & Events Manager, Matt Ryan said: “The borough council is delighted to have won the 2015 Seaside Award.
“This is great news for the borough and a fine testament to our staff and the agencies who work hard to make sure the beach is well maintained for residents and visitors to enjoy all year round.”
Weymouth Central is one of 111 beaches that have been awarded this prestigious title by the charity. The Seaside Award is given to those beaches that meet the very highest standards for cleanliness and facilities.
The borough council owns and manages Weymouth Central Beach.
