Seasonal Dog Restrictions on Weymouth Beach

Weymouth welcomes dogs and their owners but in common with most seaside resorts has restrictions on what parts of the beach dogs can be exercised on during the holiday season.

Dogs are allowed in most public areas including the Esplanade providing they are kept on a lead, in certain recreation grounds and areas around them dogs are not allowed so just look out for the signs.

Dogs are excluded from Greenhill Groyne to the pavilion end of the Beach from Good Friday to 31 October, there is a dog exercise area at the pavilion end of the beach which has no restrictions all year round. More information about dogs control on Weymouth Beach and surrounding areas can be found in the Weymouth and Portland Responsible Dog Owners Guide.
