Nothe Fort Weymouth  is the place to be from the 10th – 18th February, 10:30am-4pm daily when it will be presenting nine days of educational and immersive family activities, spanning over the Half Term.

Visitors can get up close and personal with the Fort’s wartime equipment and join in with activities that will take them back in time to wartime Britain. Visitors can travel around the Fort, completing their very own Log Book as they go.

This is alongside specialist activities from Nothe Fort Volunteers, who will be delivering bitesize “Evacuee Experiences” on select days, offering small sessions on the Blitz, air raids, or rationing, and ration portions.

They Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre will also be attending on select days, giving visitors a taster of Special Forces Decent Training.

Plus, on select days, there will also be some WWII Vehicles in attendance brought by enthusiasts across Dorset.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and stories of WWII. Bring the whole family and make history come alive at Nothe Fort’s WWII Week.

One visitor from last year said, “We took our grandchildren, age 1 and 7, to the WW2 experience. It was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and ensured that both children were able to take part in the activities, the boys particularly enjoyed the assault course and the fire fighting. We visit regularly and have annual passes so we know we will always have a great time.”

The General Manager at Nothe Fort said, “We love to bring the Fort’s history to life for our visitors, so they can experience it for themselves. We put on these events for our visitors to learn in a fun and immersive way, and there is always something for everyone no matter what age. WWII resonates with a lot of our visitors, many with family members who had an involvement in some capacity, so we feel it’s important to tell our part of this history”.
