SEAFEAST – The Dorset Seafood Festival which will take place on September 9th & 10th at the Weymouth Peninsula is pleased to announce two new local directors to the family run team; Sophie Kermani and Pippa Gibb.

Sophie and Pippa are not only local business owners and residents of Weymouth, but are also sister in laws – so the family ethos continues. Festival founder, Brian Cooper and daughter Laura Avant will join forces with the team at In The Bag PR to put on the UK’s most prestigious seafood festival, bringing thousands to Weymouth.

As part of the Festival’s 2023 date and new director announcement, the team are offering 100 free tickets (first come first served) for locals, under 16’s are already FREE!

T&Cs for this offer are as follows:

100 free tickets for local residents when booking with either a DT3/4/5 postcode
Limited to two free adult tickets per booking
Use discount code SATLOCAL for two free Saturday tickets or SUNLOCAL for two free Sunday tickets
If you miss out on the free local tickets, don’t fear – a special locals discount rate for the Sunday of the Festival will be available very soon. Sunday at the Festival is set to focus on family friendly activities, live music from local bands and of course – delicious seafood.

Laura Avant, Festival Director commented: “As a way to celebrate Sophie and Pippa joining the team, we are delighted to offer 100 free tickets to locals and another 100 free tickets to a local charity. And a reminder that children under 16 are FREE! We are really excited to be back again this year, and have some great plans for the Festival, look out for future announcements, and a special locals ticket for Sunday coming soon.

As always visitors can expect talented chefs, seafood producers, local wine, beer and music. We’re working on new features for the Festival and we can’t wait to welcome visitors back in September.”

Pippa Gibb, Festival Director commented: “Sophie and I are really excited to get stuck into the Festival for 2023. We have been involved from a PR perspective for many years now – but this will be a new role for us and one that we are honoured to undertake. In The Bag PR has been working hard to promote Weymouth far and wide. The Festival is the largest event in the town and really helps to put Weymouth on the map, drawing in thousands of visitors who wouldn’t visit otherwise. The event highlights the amazing fishing and seafood community we have here. With a fleet of 30 day boats heading out to fish, we’re proud of the sustainable fishing practices that happen in Weymouth. We’re looking forward to bringing new content to the Festival, to continue to highlight sustainable seafood and to put on an event that can be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.”

The Festival, famed for its array of sustainably sourced seafood, local produce, fantastic wines and local beers, also helps to raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission, a charity close to the heart’s of the Weymouth community. With a range of top local chefs demo-ing throughout the weekend, daily fish auctions, seafood producers from across Dorset and the south, local Badger Beers and live music entertainment – there’s something for everyone at SEAFEAST.
