After 14 years of exceptional seafood, fundraising for the Fishermen’s Mission, and glorious sunshine in Weymouth, the multi-award-winning Dorset Seafood Festival is has announced a rebrand for the 2022 festival which will take place on 10th & 11th September 2022 on Weymouth Peninsula overlooking Weymouth Bay and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

SEAFEAST – The Dorset Seafood Festival will incorporate everything the festival has come to represent with top chefs, fantastic seafood producers, industry experts and of course, the Fishermen’s Mission.

After the roaring success of the 2021 Dorset Seafood Festival, held at the Weymouth Peninsulafor the first time, the festival organisers are delighted to have secured the same location for 2022. Attendees enjoyed delicious seafood, live cooking demonstrations, music and a buzzing atmosphere, with the glorious backdrop of Weymouth Bay. With the ongoing changes to the harbourside, the peninsula offers the event much more of an opportunity to develop features and attractions for the future.

The harbourside has been a wonderful home for the festival in the past, but as the event has evolved, a new location offers more scope for visitors, stall holders, sponsors and local businesses alike.

Laura Avant, Festival Director commented: “We moved to the Peninsula for 2021 to enable us to confidently and safely go ahead. I don’t think anyone involved could have expected it to go as well as it did – including ourselves. We’ve learned a few lessons along the way, but feedback from those who attended and those involved has been overwhelmingly positive. The new format offered more ease of movement, much more seating and a more engaged crowd. Building on the experience of this year will allow us to develop new features and content, so expect more delicious seafood, more music throughout, even more seating and some extras too – a quality event that Weymouth and Dorset can be very proud of. We are pleased to offer an early bird discount for both locals and visitors to take advantage of, we very much hope you’ll join us”.

The ethos of the event remains unchanged, to promote the enjoyment of responsibly sourced seafood and to help raise funds for the Fishermen’s Mission charity, not forgetting a great day out for those who attend!
