Major Government Grant Supports Portland Museum Recovery Plans
Portland Museum is delighted to announce that it has won more than £70,000 from the Government’s Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Culture Recovery Fund.
The grant will be used to help maintain the museum through the remainder of the year and ensure the museum is Covid-safe for reopening in 2021. It will underpin work to offer improved accessibility and the continuation of essential conservation activities.
Comments Portland Museum’s chair of Trustees Angela Scott: “This is an important grant which helps to enable us to carry out vital work in a number of areas while injecting some terrific energy back into the heart of the museum and our local community.
“Our museum really packs a punch as our island packs more history into each square metre than anywhere else I know.”
