For many who spent time in Weymouth and Portland  during 2012, the year the Olympic Games came to town, a lasting memory will be just how attractive The Promenade looked with all the brightly coloured flags flying from flagpoles that were erected for the games by the 2012 organisers.
The flags came down after the games but the good news was we got to keep the flagpoles. In 2013 brightly coloured flags created by local school children flew proudly from our poles but sadly these were removed at the end of the season. They recently came back but are getting a little faded..
The Weymouth BID have just announced that coming very soon there will be new brightly coloured flags flying from these poles along The Promenade. We understand that twenty colourful flags have been ordered and will be in place within the next few weeks so hopefully we’ll get to see them for a while before the 2013 holiday season comes to an end. In addition there are to be some brightly coloured banners hung across St Marys Street in the town centre.
We can’t wait to see them, no date has been announced yet for their setup but as soon as we hear we’ll post the news.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
