The Wessex Folk Festival Returns to Weymouth!

Get ready for a weekend of music, dance, and community spirit at the Wessex Folk Festival, happening on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June 2025 along the picturesque South Weymouth Harbourside. This beloved free festival has been a staple of Weymouth’s summer season for over 20 years, celebrating the rich tapestry of folk traditions.

Festival Highlights:

• Live Music: Enjoy performances from renowned acts like Man the Lifeboats, bringing their high-energy folk-punk sound, and the soulful slide guitar of Martin Harley. Also, don’t miss the award-winning Canadian duo Jocelyn Pettit and Ellen Gira, known for their dynamic fiddle and cello performances.
• Two Stages: Catch a variety of acts on the Main Stage in Hope Square and the Harbourside Stage, featuring both local talents and international artists.
• Morris Dancing: Experience traditional Morris dancing throughout the weekend along the harbourside.
• Workshops & Stalls: Participate in musical workshops and explore stalls offering food, drinks, clothing, gifts, and keepsakes — all with that unique ‘folky’ vibe.
• Pub Sessions: Join in the lively music sessions in local pubs, starting with warm-up events on Friday 30th May.
