“There’s Hendrix, there’s Clapton and there’s Robbie McIntosh” – so said singer and guitarist Chris Rea (of “Road to Hell” fame).

On Friday 5 September Robbie McIntosh and friends will be playing at St Laurence Church, Upwey. As well as regular band members Paul Beavis (drums), Steve Smith (keys) and Upwey’s own Steve Wilson (bass) Robbie will be joined by famed harmonica player Mark Feltham of Nine Below Zero.

Robbie’s CV includes The Pretenders, Paul McCartney, John Mayer, Norah Jones and a great deal more. Mark Feltham is one of the country’s finest harmonica players. On top of his regular band, Nine Below Zero, he’s a seasoned session player and side man. You name them, he’s played with them – Rory Gallagher, Annie Lennox, Paul Young, Roger Daltrey, Oasis. The list goes on and on.

The evening is presented by Upwey Music, a charity run by volunteers which promotes and supports music performances in and around Upwey.
