This year’s Easter Holiday theme is inspired by the Victorian novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, written by Lewis Carroll. The story features a young girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantastical world. The book was first published in 1865, around the same time that Nothe Fort was being built.

Event Coordinator for Nothe Fort, Connie Jenkins-Teague said:

“With both the setting of Alice’s Adventures and the history of Nothe Fort rooted in the Victorian Era, we have had fun getting creative with our theme.
Visitors can enjoy traditional Victorian Easter activities, such as Easter Bonnet dress up and a game of croquet, but with fantastical twists from Alice’s story.
Exploring the underground tunnels of the Fort transports you to another world, so embrace your curiosity, and explore Nothe Fort’s Easter Wonderland!”

Easter Wonderland runs from 5 – 21 April, opening 10.30am -4.00pm, with a Quiet Opening on Saturday 12th April at 10.00am, for visitors to enjoy holiday activities at a quieter, less crowded pace.

This event is free with your General Admission ticket and is covered by Annual Passes.

Nothe Fort is a dog-friendly museum, dogs are very welcome so bring the whole family!
