The Weymouth and Portland legacy trail, funded by the Wild about Weymouth Partnership, the Big Lottery Fund and Natural England, offers visitors and local people a chance to explore the wild side of Weymouth and Portland.

The trail takes visitors from Littlemoor and the Lorton Meadows Nature Reserve through Lodmoor Nature Reserve and Weymouth seafront to Radipole Nature Reserve. From there onwards using the Rodwell Trail that follows the route of the original Weymouth to Portland railway  the trail takes in Chesil Beach and onwards towards Portland Bill taking in the historic Underhill area, Portland’s quarries and spectacular coastal scenery on the route.

This video that was produced as part of the project illustrates so well that even out of season when it’s maybe not the best of weather for lazing around on the beach there is still plenty to see and do in the Weymouth and Portland area.
