Crowds were so huge that Santa and his reindeer had a real struggle to reach Santa’s  grotto but the day was saved by a 9ft fairy and elf who led them through.

Non stop entertainment on the Wessex FM stage kept families happy while they waited patiently to meet Santa and pet his reindeer.

Mulled wine and seasonal food stalls did a roaring trade in St Thomas St. and lots of shops joined in the spirit of the event decorating their windows and dressing up in Victorian costume to greet their customers.

Most agreed that  it was definitely a fun night that’s laid the foundations for an annual Christmas event in Weymouth that will grow bigger and better as the years go by and we reckon a big vote of thanks is owed to all the businesses of Weymouth who joined together to create the Weymouth BID that made the event possible.
