Local veterans are invited by Weymouth & Portland Borough Council to a Christmas treat of tasty mince pies and Christmas cake as part of the borough’s December Veterans Rendezvous.

The event will be held on Wednesday 11 December from 10am to noon in the Weymouth RAFA Club in Maiden Street.
The traditional Christmas cuisine of Christmas cake and mince pies donated by local bakers Dorset Cake Co. will be delivered to the borough’s Veterans Rendezvous and presented along with festive greetings from the Mayor of Weymouth & Portland Cllr Ray Banham at 11am.

Mayor of Weymouth & Portland Cllr Ray Banham said: “We are very proud of our strong relationship with the veterans’ community and associations and commend them for their wonderful support at Weymouth’s annual Armed Forces Day Celebration’s event in June. I would also like to thank Dorset Cake Co. for supplying the Christmas treats for the veterans again this year.”
Paul Walden, Dorset Cake Co. Managing Director said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to supply our local veterans and friends with a Christmas treat fresh from our local bakery. It’s great to be able to contribute to the Veterans Christmas Rendezvous each year and add to the festive fun”.

The 2014 Weymouth and Portland Armed Forces Day Celebrations will take place between Saturday 21 to Friday 27June.
