Chesil Rocks is back for 2025, promising an unforgettable day of comedy, live music, community spirit and fun in the heart of the Jurassic Coast at Weymouth Pavilion.
Taking place on 21st June, this year’s event is set to be the best yet, with a packed lineup of local, regional and national talent, plus that unique atmosphere that make Chesil Rocks so special.
Founded to support Samaritans of Dorset who are based in Weymouth, Chesil Rocks has to date donated over £125,000 to the branch and the event has grown into one of the region’s standout music festivals – all while maintaining its grassroots charm and commitment to mental health awareness.
Highlights for Chesil Rocks 2025 will include:
Comedy compèred by the delightful Tom Glover and featuring Nina Gilligan – voted as northwest comedian of the year in 2023 and as the UK’s best comedian by comedians themselves last year.
Also featuring Jake Lambert – described as ‘a joke machine’ by The Telegraph and who is a rapidly rising stand-up known for his non-stop gag-filled storytelling. His online videos have racked up over 500 million views, building him a devoted fanbase and memorable appearances, including on Live at the Apollo.
Live music from a diverse range of acts including an ensemble from the sensational and internationally renowned London Gay Men’s Chorus – Britain’s biggest boy band – the wonderful Upton, McIntosh, Wilson and Friends, rock covers band Balance of Power, the Pete Brown Blues Band, the talented Chris Davies, 80’s/90’s electropop band ELECTRONIQUE, the superb Dorset Rock Choir and the Fabulous Portesham Ukulele Band with Sam Brown.
Festival founders and organisers Hilary and Tim Warren say:
“Every year, Chesil Rocks brings people together not just to enjoy music, but to support a fantastic cause. Dorset should be very proud of their Samaritans – every one a volunteer – as recent figures have highlighted that our Samaritans in Dorset on average spend longer listening to callers, compared to at other branches in the south west. Our fundraising enables them to worry less about the £40,000 they need to raise each year to keep their branch open, and instead focus more on what they do best”.
