Santas, elves, fairies and other Christmas characters will chase a Christmas pudding along Weymouth Beach (Weymouth Pavilion end) on Sunday 15 December.

People are invited to come along and watch the event along Weymouth seafront at 11am.

Organiser BustinSkin EventsĀ is aiming for record breaking entry numbers this year to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Everyone is invited to join in the event. The course is a 5K run from the Weymouth Pavilion end of the beach to The Groyne at Greenhill and back again.

It cost Ā£10 for adults (Ā£15 with santa suit) and under 10ā€™s go free with a family member.

Neil Jarrett, Fundraising & Volunteer Manager for the British Heart Foundation, said:Ā ā€œWe are really looking forward to this yearā€™s Chase the Pudding and creating a festive spectacle on Weymouth Beach.Ā  It is going to be a lot of fun, and the money raised will help us to continue the life-changing work that we carry out in the local area and across the UK.ā€

Mark Steen, Director of BustinSkin Events, said: ā€œI am really pleased to be partnered with BHF again this year, it is a very worthwhile cause. I am sure that many local club runners and enthusiasts will turn out in great numbers to share this hilarious, happy and healthy seasonal event.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Tourism and Culture brief holder Cllr Ian Bruce said:Ā ā€œThe borough isĀ known for hosting a great festival and events programme throughout the year and Chase the Pudding is definitely a festive favourite.

ā€œLocal events generate fun, awareness, raise money for good causes and bring the town alive. Everyone should come down to the seafront this weekend and support the event.ā€

Registration is at 9am in the Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room followed by a warm up from 9.30am by fitness trainer Jodie Bateman. Competitors and spectators are welcome to use the pavilion bars and cafes which are open from 10am to 4pm for refreshments with lots of warming and delicious food and drink on offer.

This yearā€™s Chase the Pudding will be started by Wessex FM breakfast presenter James Oā€™Neill along with Weymouth & Portland Mayor Cllr Ray Banham and stars from this yearā€™s pantomime Cinderella.
