Weymouth carnival is urging businesses to dress their shops, hotels and staff and get in the carnival spirit.

Weymouth Hoteliers, Guest Houses & Leaseholders have donated £500 to Weymouth Carnival in the memory of Dave Price.

Alison Weller of WHGLA said ” After the sad and sudden death of our Chairman Dave Price earlier this year the WHGLA decided to donate £500 to Weymouth Carnival in honour of him” “Dave loved Weymouth with a passion and always supported the Carnival and the life & pleasure it brought to the town” “He will be sadly missed” Weymouth carnival have branded a new trophy for the best carnival spirited business in memory of Dave Price, ‘The Dave Price Memorial Shield’ and it will be awarded to one of the businesses on Carnival Day.

Chairman Ryan Hope said “After the money was donated the committee felt it was a really good idea to remember Dave price as he was a huge supporter of carnival and any activity in the town” Trustee Gary French said “We want the whole town to get into the Carnival Spirit” “It’s more entertaining for the Carnival, the seafront really looks like it’s come to life when everyone takes part and it’s an excellent backdrop to the carnival”
