From Jurassic Coast to Tom Kerridge’s Table: Krystyna Sargent’s ‘Worlds Within Worlds’ Debut Exhibition at Cove Gallery

Renowned local ceramicist Krystyna Sargent, celebrated for her distinctive, nature-inspired pieces featured in Tom Kerridge’s recipe book ‘Tom’s Table’ and used at Weymouth’s acclaimed Catch restaurant, is launching her first solo exhibition at Cove Gallery, South Harbourside, Weymouth. The ‘Worlds Within Worlds’ exhibition will run from 7th to 13th April, showcasing a mesmerising collection of sculptures that draw inspiration from the Jurassic Coast, oriental aesthetics, and mythological storytelling.

Krystyna, who moved to Dorset in 2020, has quickly established herself as one of Cove Gallery’s most sought-after makers. Her innovative approach includes experimenting with various clays, particularly local Jurassic clays, to create intricate strata effects reminiscent of natural erosion and geological layering. These techniques result in pieces that feel both ancient and contemporary, bridging the gap between tradition and creativity.

Krystyna comments:
“It’s a real thrill to have this opportunity to showcase my work at Cove Gallery. For this exhibition, I’ve pushed my practice further, using local Jurassic clays to create textures that evoke the rugged beauty of the coast. I hope visitors will feel that sense of discovery and wonder that inspired me.”

Geraldine Mooney, Co-owner of Cove Gallery, adds:
“Krystyna’s dedication to her craft is truly inspiring. She consistently evolves her style and technique, creating pieces that captivate our visitors. We are proud to host her first solo exhibition and excited to introduce her new work to a wider audience.”
