NCI Portland Bill Open Day

Discover the work of the volunteers who help keep watch over one of Dorset’s busiest and most spectacular stretches of coastline at the NCI Portland Bill Open Day.

Visitors are invited to look around the National Coastwatch Institution lookout station, meet the volunteer watchkeepers and find out how they help monitor the coastline, assist the emergency services and promote safety at sea.

The open day is a great opportunity to learn more about the important role the National Coastwatch Institution plays, ask questions and see the lookout station in action.

Refreshments and homemade sweet treats will be available throughout the day, with donations warmly welcomed. Every contribution helps support the volunteers and enables them to continue their vital work keeping watch over the coastline.

Whether you’re interested in maritime safety, volunteering, or simply looking for an enjoyable visit while exploring Portland Bill, everyone is welcome.
