Young explorers are invited to step into the world of archaeology at this fun and interactive Children’s Archaeology Drop-In event taking place in Weymouth on Friday 29th May 2026.
Hosted by Context One Heritage & Archaeology as part of the DIG the Street project, the session gives children the chance to meet real archaeologists, discover what life on a dig site is really like, and even uncover genuine finds from the excavation in a hands-on sand pit activity.
Children can also explore the site itself to spot features and discoveries uncovered during the excavation, making this a brilliant opportunity to learn more about Weymouth’s hidden history in a fun and engaging way.
Suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years. No booking is required.
