Weymouth and Portland Mayor, Cllr Christine James has launched a competition for children to design her charity Christmas card.

Mayor Cllr Christine James, said: “Cards will go sale in the run up to Christmas and all money raised will be split between the Dementia Action Alliance and LV Streetwise.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the wonderful designs that the children have put together.”




Children will be able to choose from three different themes when designing the card:

  • Father Christmas
  • The meaning of Christmas
  • The Mayor at Christmas

The competition is open to 6-11 year olds, and a winner from each of the following categories will be picked:

  • Reception to 6 years
  • 6 years to 9 years
  • 9 years to 11 years

The closing date of the competition is Friday 13 November.
