Returning Chairman Ryan Hope says “Weymouth Carnival has taken place in Weymouth for over 50 years in order to raise funds for local charities and good causes.  The Carnival aims to deliver maximum enjoyment for residents and visitors through the diversity and delivery of activities in a safe and secure environment. For the first time ever the 2016 the Carnival will take place over two day Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th.” “The committee took the decision to extend carnival to try an encourage more groups from different back grounds and different interests to get involved , as the majority of the infrastructure is already in place so will encore little extra cost” “We will shortly release our get involved brochure that will inform business, groups and individuals as to how they can get involved with the event from sponsorship to procession entries and volunteering opportunities”

The committee will be meeting with Weymouth BID Friday 11th March to discuss the support they will be giving to this year’s event after a pledge of support at the BID’s AGM by chairman Steve Newstead.
