We Are Weymouth’s popular Dino Week has triumphed again, taking home Bronze in the Tourism Event/Festival of the Year category at the 2025 Dorset Tourism Awards.
Now a firm family favourite, Dino Week has become one of Weymouth’s most anticipated annual events – blending fun, education, and community spirit to celebrate the town’s Jurassic heritage. With dinosaur trails, fossil hunts, interactive experiences, and themed entertainment, the event draws thousands of visitors into the town centre every year.
Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded Bronze by Tomorrows Travel for Dino week, at the Dorset Tourism Awards and offer our congratulations to Bournemouth Writing Festival on winning Gold. Dino Week has gone from strength to strength, bringing people together to enjoy Weymouth’s seafront and celebrate our connection to the Jurassic Coast. To be recognised at this level is a real testament to the hard work of our staff, local businesses, volunteers, and the families who return year after year to join the adventure.”
We Are Weymouth continues to deliver a vibrant calendar of events that champion the town’s heritage and creativity – from Halloween’s Zombie Week to Dusk Til Dark, Elf world record attempt and the nostalgic #WeyBackWhen campaign.
