Catch at The Old Fish Market in Weymouth has scooped Gold in the Restaurant and Casual Dining category at the Dorset Tourism Awards 2025, cementing its reputation as one of the county’s leading dining destinations.

The win was announced at last night’s awards ceremony, where Catch triumphed over fellow finalists Al Molo in Dorchester and Lola’s Spanish Restaurant, Bournemouth. The restaurant will now represent Dorset at the Visit England Awards for Excellence, where it will compete on the national stage.

Led by Head Chef Ben Champkin, Catch has become known for its innovative, sustainable approach to seafood, working closely with Weymouth’s day-boat fishing fleet to bring the freshest possible catch from sea to plate. The restaurant champions Dorset’s coastal produce, with a menu that changes daily according to what lands on the quay.

Ben Champkin, Chef Patron, Catch at The Old Fish Market comments: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have won Gold – it’s a real honour and a huge credit to the whole team. Everything we do at Catch starts with the incredible seafood landed right here in Weymouth, and this award is as much for our local fishermen and producers as it is for us. We’re proud to be part of a food community that’s championing sustainability and showing what Dorset can do on a national stage.”

The Dorset Tourism Awards celebrate excellence across the county’s hospitality and visitor economy sectors, with gold winners automatically qualifying for the South West and Visit England national finals.

Catch at The Old Fish Market continues to set the standard for coastal dining – a restaurant anchored in its community, celebrating the best of Dorset seafood, and leading the way in sustainable gastronomy.
