AIR 107.2 has today confirmed the full acquisition of Dorset News, the online news platform.
With the previous directors now stepping away, AIR 107.2 has taken complete control of the media brand, which will now operate under the new name AIR DORSET NEWS.
Listeners and readers may have already noticed a change in the style of reporting, with a renewed focus on positive, factual and responsible local journalism. Director Carl Greenham said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for AIR. What began as a partnership with the previous directors has now developed into full ownership of the platform. Taking full control allows us to grow our presence both online and on air, and to strengthen how we deliver local news across Dorset.”
Fellow director Jamie Lyones added: “This is only the beginning of what we are trying to achieve at AIR. Our aim is to become the most listened-to station in the area, and every day we continue to grow from strength to strength. Since the takeover at the end of last year, our digital listenership has already tripled, which shows the demand for the direction we are taking.”
AIR DORSET NEWS will now serve as the unified news brand for AIR 107.2, delivering local stories across radio, digital platforms and social media.
