A moving art installation honouring those who lost their lives in the Falklands War will go on display at Nothe Fort, Weymouth, from 5–30 November 2025.

The exhibition, created by the charity Standing With Giants, will feature 255 life-size silhouettes of Seafarers, Royal Marines, Army, and Air Force personnel, along with three civilians, representing all those who died in the 1982 conflict.

The figures will be placed across the Fort’s parade ground, giving visitors the opportunity to walk among them and reflect. An identical installation currently stands in the Falkland Islands, while others have been displayed at Thoresby Park, the International Bomber Command Centre, and the Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson.

Standing With Giants was founded by Oxfordshire artist Dan Barton, who said the team had been “overwhelmed by the amazing reactions from veterans and families of the fallen who visit the installations and share their heartfelt stories with us.”

Nothe Fort’s events coordinator, Connie Jenkins-Teague, added:
“We are honoured to host Standing With Giants: Falklands Tribute. The support from community groups who have come forward to help with installation, sponsorship and stewarding has been extraordinary. Our parade ground is the perfect setting for this installation, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to experience it.”

Admission to the exhibition is included in the normal entry fee for Nothe Fort and is free for annual pass holders. Veterans and serving armed forces personnel can access concessionary tickets, while Falklands veterans will be granted free entry throughout the exhibition period.

The Fort will also be hosting a pop-up display from The Keep Military Museum in Dorchester, with all three levels of the site open to explore. Visitors are advised to allow 2–3 hours for their trip, and refreshments will be available at the Fort View Café.
