Weymouth Pirate Fest will begin with a colourful Pirate Parade of pirates, drummers, rogues, and all, and throughout the day there will be live music, re-enactments and general pirate shenanigans! Alongside the entertainment there will be a Pirate Bazaar, where a selection of suitably attired traders will be selling their wares.
Dawn Rondeau, We Are Weymouth’s Chief Operations Officer comments: “Weymouth has an amazing seafaring history with pirates and folklore woven throughout. We’re excited to be sponsoring this event with The Dolmen and to see Weymouth play host to a wonderful family pirate event once again. Weymouth Pirate Fest will encompass entertainment and reenactments – we look forward to working with the businesses in the town centre to embrace this event and get into the pirate spirit of things in October. More information on Weymouth Pirate Fest will be released over the coming months.”
Taloch Jameson of The Dolmen comments: “We’ve run several pirate events in Weymouth over the years and have a great relationship with some of the local businesses where pirate events will take place this October. We hope to involve the whole town in our pirate shenanigans, as well as introducing visitors near and far to Weymouth and our pirate history. This free to attend, family friendly event will bring entertainment and fun to the month of October.”
Weymouth Pirate Fest will take place on 15th October 2022 from 11am to 11pm – locations throughout Weymouth to be confirmed.
Initiatory Fest events will be taking place from 3pm on 14th October as pirate crews gather from all over the country, and the traditional ‘Survivors’ Party will take place Sunday 16th October.
