Weymouth Food & Family Festival (previously Weymouth Food Festival) is returning to Lodmoor Country Park for the third time on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of July this year. It promises to be a great day out for all the family with entertainments including a live music stage, an onsite kitchen with live cooking demonstrations from a ‘Comedy Chef Duo’, circus skills workshops, bubble parties, dance performances, and three free to enter competitions – a dog show, a chilli eating contest and the ‘Verses food’ challenge. There will be over 60 trade stands selling food, drink, craft and retail goods as well as a hot food court.

Organisers Simon Stewart and Venetia Randall both live locally and are delighted to be able to run such an event so close to home. Simon Stewart said “This year we have changed the name of this event as really it is a day out for the whole family to enjoy, and we wanted the name to reflect this. The last two events we have run on this site have been very well received by both locals and tourists and we hope to build on this success and make it a permanent fixture in Weymouth’s event calendar’.

Venetia Randall said “Lodmoor Country Park event site is a beautiful venue for a festival and being only a three minute walk from Weymouth beach makes it an ideal setting for a day out. We work really hard to make our event affordable for the whole family, and to promote all the wonderful local businesses and producers who have a passion for Dorset and the surrounding area. This year we have a new chilli eating contest where the entrants can test their stomachs and minds by seeing how hot of a chilli they can withstand – and trust me, some of these chilli’s are to be afraid of’.
