Local musicians, pub and bar owners, and digital experts have joined together to create a 12-hour online music festival to help keep people at home and raise funds for the Dorset County Hospital Charity.  From midday to midnight on Sunday 12th April, top names such as The Voice finalist Lauren Bannon, The Leggomen, Powley, and Tequila Mockingbird will all be performing, live streamed via the Loving Weymouth and Portland Facebook Page.

Viewers are encouraged to enjoy the party, whilst isolating at home, sending in messages, shout-outs and of course donating to Dorset County Hospital Charity page through this Just Giving link:  www.justgiving.com/team/virtualquayfest

Organiser, Billy Hutchinson, comments: “Quayfest traditionally marks the start of the summer programme of live music here in Weymouth and it has been heart-breaking for performers, business owners and locals that our amazing live music events are being cancelled and postponed due to COVID-19.  As an organiser of this online event we all believe it is imperative that people stay at home right now and we wanted to do whatever we could to help entertain people, whilst also supporting our local NHS.

Everyone is offering their time for free and we hope to put on 12 hours of non-stop music and entertainment, showing fans and locals that we’ll be back soon.”

Virtual Quayfest is looking for local businesses to help sponsor the event, with all monies going directly to the Dorset County Hospital Charity.  There are 5 sponsorship packages at £200 each, offered on a first come, first serve basis.  Contact Andrew Cooke for more information:  07747 724588.
