Weymouth has a long tradition of welcoming tall ships to our historic port although sadly in recent years there probably haven’t been as many visits from foreign vessels as there were during the 1980s and 90s, an era when the borough hosted The Tall Ships Race three times and even used to send a representative to the UK’s annual tall ships conference .
It is particularly exciting then to be welcoming The Tall Ship Le Marité to Weymouth Harbour in September to take part in the town’s Waterfest celebrations.
