Bowleaze Cove is located on the eastern side of Weymouth Bay and is the last beach on the curve of the bay that can be reached by car.
For children it’s a fun place to spend time playing in the River Jordan that winds it’s way to the sea across the beach or exploring the rock pools at the east of the beach.
This is the one beach in Weymouth where jet skis are permitted, they’re fascinating to watch but can get a little noisy after a while if your sat on the beach by the narrow channel they are allowed to use. For a quieter time just head around 50 yards west in the direction of Overcombe.
Above all Bowleaze is about fun for those staying on the nearby Haven parks and Waterside Park. Some of the best children’s rides in town are to be found in Bowleaze Cove’s amusement park, you’ll also find a gift shop, cafe and fish and chip shop close to the shore.
A short pier leading out from the beach makes a good spot for fishing and the views towards Portland on a clear evening are quite spectacular.
