The Victorian Weekend is the highlight of Nothe Fort’s annual programme of events. This summer the Ragged Victorians and more return to Weymouth’s number one heritage attraction, with exciting programme of immersive family friendly activities – taking you right back to the Victorian era. Taking place over the weekend of the 8th and 9th July, from 10am – 4pm each day.

You can expect outstanding historic military demonstrations from the Nothe Fort Garrison, The Rifle Brigade, and The Bluejackets Re-enactment Society. There will also be a spectacular display stalls from our Victorian scientist and surgeon, plus an array of traditional crafts including blacksmithing, thatching and more.

Last year’s huge hit was Punch & Judy, which will be rejoining for this year’s event. And let’s not forget the return of the ‘Ragged Victorians – The Great Unwashed’ – award winning, living history group portraying the life and tales of the lower classes in Queen Victoria’s rule.

The Nothe Fort Victorian Weekend is an unforgettable experience of living history, a brilliantly entrancing and interactive day out for all the family.

“This weekend is one of our favourite events within our programme! The way history can be told through an immersive experience and create a fun environment for our visitors to learn all sorts of things they may not yet know, it’s what we love so much about the reenactors and stalls that come to the event year after year,” Mary-Anne Edwards, Co-General Manager. “And this year we’ve got some special new additions! Come and see for yourself!”
