SEAFEAST – The Dorset Seafood Festival, Weymouth’s annual celebration of all things seafood, has once again proven its commitment to the Weymouth community and seafood sustainability, raising a remarkable sum for The Fishermen’s Mission and recognising exceptional contributions to ocean health within the industry.

The 2023 edition of SEAFEAST, held on 9th & 10th September surpassed all expectations, drawing seafood enthusiasts, industry professionals, and sustainability advocates from across the nation. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the festival, attendees enjoyed delectable seafood offerings, Badger Beer, English sparkling wine, live entertainment, educational workshops, and much more.

This year, SEAFEAST raised an impressive £6,600.00 for The Fishermen’s Mission. This charitable organisation, dedicated to supporting fishermen and their families during times of need, will benefit immensely from the generosity of SEAFEAST attendees, sponsors, and volunteers. Hall & Woodhouse have added further to this donation with an additional £500.

Dean Lawrence, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Fishermen’s Mission commented: “We are thrilled to announce that SEAFEAST – The Dorset Seafood Festival has raised over £7,000 for The Fishermen’s Mission this year. This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of the SEAFEAST organisers and kindness of Hall & Woodhouse. SEAFEAST is our biggest event contributor and we are forever grateful to the team and the incredible generosity of the festival-goers. ”

Anthony Woodhouse, Director of Hall & Woodhouse commented: “SEAFEAST is a great example of local communities coming together, a central value for us at Hall & Woodhouse. Our Badger Brewery Beer Garden gave visitors an authentic Hall & Woodhouse experience and a comfortable place to enjoy the day. We loved every aspect of the festival and enjoyed taking part in the lively atmosphere. The community spirit inspired us to donate to The Fishermen’s Mission, an incredible charity that provides emotional and financial care to fishermen and their families, something close to our hearts given our coastal locations.”

In addition to its charitable endeavours, SEAFEAST celebrated the champions of sustainability with the SEAFEAST Sustainability Awards. These awards recognise the outstanding contributions of our stall holders who are committed to the preservation of our oceans and the promotion of responsible fishing practices.
