Nothe Fort is hosting a week of commemorative events to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day! Victory in Europe Day, known as VE Day, marked the end of the war in Europe on 8th May, 1945. This year is the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, so join in the street-party atmosphere in the Parade Ground with delicious homemade treats and Cream Tea Platters from the Fort View Café.
From 3rd – 11th May, children can dress up in wartime clothes and take part in WW2activities in the Family Room Don’t forget, our WW2 Mouse Hunt is back for the week! Nothe Fort has a special week of VE Day activities planned, including:
The Decadettes VE Day Performance Sunday
4th May 1.15pm – 3.45pm
The Decadettes will be returning to the Fort to sing us through the decades of Wartime
Britain.‘A String of Pearls’ by AsOne Theatre
Sunday 4th May 2:00pm – 3.15pm
Produced by AsOne theatre company, featuring songs with: The Decadettes; & Grains of Hope (Ukrainian performance group)

Join us for a VE Day Circus Celebration with fantastic displays by Jasmin Edwards.
Get ready to laugh, gasp, and watch things all get a little too much for this housewife as she
prepares for a VE Day party! A hilarious and heartfelt tribute to the overworked women of the
era.VE Day Drama Showcase by ScreenPLAY

Join us for VE Day commemorations on May 8th, as ScreenPLAY showcase part of a new audio drama about Homefront life during World War II, featuring Students from St Mary’s Puddletown School . Children of World War Two is an eight-part audio drama devised and recorded by children at
four Dorset schools, inspired by true stories collected from local people in their 90s that will premiere at new listening post installations at Nothe Fort.All of these events are FREE with an Annual Pass/General Admission ticket price – return as many times as you like within a year!
Nothe Fort is dog-friendly, so bring the whole family to enjoy a day out.
Please note, that all VE Day performances will be outside in the Parade Ground, so please dress appropriately for the conditions. Nothe Fort will post updates in case of any inclement weather, but fingers crossed for awonderful week of sunshine!
