🌈❤️🌈 Here’s lots of useful and updated information about this weekend’s three days of Weymouth & Portland Pride 🌈❤️🌈#PrideByTheSeaside Announcement
This Friday at 2pm we open the gates to the first Weymouth & Portland Pride 3 Day Festival Event.
The event has taken months of very careful planning by a small dedicated team who have worked tirelessly. Always with the same goal in mind to bring a much needed Pride to Weymouth and to bring our whole community togther as one.
Over the weekend we have followed comments on social media and answered numerous emails and messages.
As a team, we have listened & have taken note and would like to share an update.
Chairs We have made the decision to ALLOW guests to bring chairs into the festival on all days. We simply ask that you are respectful of your fellow festival goers that choose to stand up and watch the show. Be safe, responsible and courteous. Please position your chairs to the edge & back of the main stage viewing area. Chairs will not be permitted near to the stage.
Disabled Access & Viewing Area This has always been in place please contact us with your requirements & we will do our best to accommodate. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Why The Searches? We will not take any risks to the safety of the public attending. It’s not about trying to make a profit with inflated festival prices. It’s about making sure nothing is taken into the festival with the intent to cause harm. This is a standard rule at any large outside managed event.
Why the Road Closure? Radipole Park Drive is a fast road. We were advised that for the safety of the public attending the road should be closed while the festival is open.
Why So Many Other Rules? We have worked closely with experienced event organisers, police, fire service, safety advisory boards & security teams. All rules are in place to ensure the safety of the public attending the event and will be upheld.
The Parade (Friday) This will start at 1pm And is a walking parade along Radipole Park Drive.
Festival Times Friday - Gates Open 2pm - Event Closes 9.30pm Saturday - Gates Open 11am - Event Closes 9.30pm Sunday - Gates Open 11am - Event Closes 7.30pm
Tickets & Festival Capacity We have strict capacity limitations, so we strongly advise you purchase your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Access to the Festival site. We are expecting large numbers of visitors across the 3 days There will be queues. Searches and ticket allocation will take time. Please allow plenty of time for this.
