We went there yesterday. Really lovely. Nice walks for our dog. Not too crowded on the beach and lovely little cafe serving great food. What's not to like.
I'd love to walk the coastal path ❤👌
We love Ringstead beach. We go often when holidaying in Weymouth x
I used to live there when we first moved to Weymouth loved it all the time and seeing the American radars there when coming down hill always looked great
We were there yesterday afternoon for a last paddle, swim, chips at sunset!! Luckily we can park at a friends house now as it’s a very long walk down for little legs!
Stayed in a cottage (Mine Cottage) about 50 years ago, best holiday of my childhood!
Love Ringstead Bay. Very peaceful. I seem to remember a cafe in the car park that sells a pint of prawns with bread and butter and other equally delicious food. Well worth a visit as a complete opposite to the hustle and bustle of Weymouth.
Jack Cass amount of times I've been Weymouth and never here were have go visit it next time x
One of our favourite dog walks!
Last time I attempted to drive down there it was very expensive to park - I only stopped in on way past as I was on my way home - I just wanted to stay 15-20 mins to have a look around and take some pics. Is this still the case?
Been there once too stony for me, though nice and quiet
Sssshhhh it's peaceful don't tell everyone it will end up overcrowded and not as enjoyable lol x
The great thing about the evenings drawing in is getting more time for views like this #weymouthbynight www.love-weymouth.co.uk #loveweymouth ❤️ #weymouthbarbour #harbourlife #streetlights #illuminations #night #nighttime #weymouth #fishingboats #harbour #visitweymouth #visitdorset #lovefordorset #shortbreak #staycation #staycations #visitbritain #visitengland #visitdorset #visitdorsetofficial ... International Moth Class UK News and Events It was a Baptism of Fire for opening day of the 2019 Wetsuit Outlet UK Moth Nationals at Castle Cove Sailing Club, with two races held in full-on conditions on a white-horse filled Portland Harbour.
We thought it best to clarify this is not the walkway to the ship as some may have thought we just liked the contrast between this old pier and the ultra modern ship. The port’s cruise ship dock is a superb recently built facility 🙂
It’s been a pleasure to have welcomed thousands of visitors this year who have arrived on the 44 Cruise ships that have docked at Portland Port. Oh dear! why do people look at a pic and NOT read the heading above it, Loving Weymouth & Portland I get it ! and it's a BRILLIANT photo.:)
Its a win win situation ! Long may it continue , was in town yesterday many tourists , sight seeing and shopping ! Great to see .
Wish we still had a nice pier
People who aren't familiar with the set-up at the Port will assume that that's the walkway. I'm happy for you to use this photo instead.
Used to go fishing of coaling pier and q- pier. Wish we could again.
Great picture 👍 love the contrast of the old rusty pier against the ship.
As Portland is a working port people are not allowed to walk off the dock. They get on buses or tour coaches.
I heard positive comments about Weymouth from cruisers.
Some confusion about what to do on Portland which is a shame as is a beautiful place!
Can’t someone do something to improve the walkway? Looks very rusty/untidy?
Is there any cruise holidays that leave from Weymouth and return
Should we be happy with such horrible cruise ships?
Robert Sibley look at the boat! The same company that used to visit Reykjavík 😊
Wouldn’t want to walk down that
Don’t most of them get on a bus to somewhere else - monkey world, bovington etc...
