With tickets from £5 for adults and children under 3 go free the Weymouth Land Train is the absolute best way to discover Weymouth’s seafront, iconic lifting bridge, the Esplanade, and historic Harbour. Lots of fun for all ages and with the opportunity for kids to have their photo taken in the driving seat of the train whilst it is stationary at the station stops. Enjoy a ride around Weymouth’s Harbour every day when the Land Train will take you on a circular route from the seafront, opposite the M&S food hall, across the Town Bridge into the vibrant Hope Square. Hop on and off at Hope Square for the Nothe Fort & Gardens, Newton’s Cove, Stone Pier, and Harbour. Hop back on the train when you are ready to return to the seafront. The train will operate daily from 10 am every half an hour from Weymouth seafront.
This year for the first time, the Weymouth Land Train has also teamed up with two Weymouth businesses with their “Just the Ticket” deals. Passengers can simply show their land train ticket and then obtain an offer with Weymouth Prezzo who will be offering a 2 for 1 on main meals, and a Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price offer with Coastline Cruises. Tony Poole, owner of the Weymouth Land Train said “We like to offer our passengers added value when they take a tour on the train, we can take them to Hope Square which is convenient for many attractions such as the Nothe Fort, Weymouth Rib Rides, Boat trips and many more. I am very pleased that we have been able to collaborate with the national restaurant group Prezzo offering a fantastic 2-for-1 deal exclusively for passengers of the train when they dine at the restaurant. We will continue to support Weldmar Hospicecare with our Group Tours for £50 for up to 40 passengers to all registered organisations, groups, schools, and children activity groups”.
In February 2024, the Weymouth Land Train was recognised by the Dorset Tourism Awards and Commended in the New Tourism Business Category which was a huge achievement for the team. The Land Train also welcomes the Nothe Fort this year as one of their supporters, and they joined forces for a celebratory photo in Hope Square, one of the drop-off points for the train with ideal access to the Nothe Fort and Gardens. Dream Cottages, Waterside Holiday Group and Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park continue to support the train.
